If you’re a WordPress beginner and you’re looking for a way to improve your skills, one place you should bookmark is the WordPress Lessons from the codex. It may not be pretty to look at, but you’ll find hours and hours worth of tutorials for customizing your WordPress site.

It includes more than a dozen topics for WordPress beginners. Lessons cover commons issues such as “I Make Changes and Nothing Happens“, which is an introduction to caching, or “WordPress Semantics – Introduction to WordPress Terminology.” More advanced topics fall under the categories of Designing Your WordPress Site, Template Files, Features and Functions, and general Website Development.
