Daily Tip: Quick Way to Turn Off WordPress Page Comments and Pingbacks by Default

Do you find yourself un-checking “allow comments” and “allow trackbacks/pingbacks” every time you create a new page in WordPress?
A new plugin is available for WordPress 3.0.1 that will automatically turn off page comments and trackbacks/pingbacks for your site. Install Page Comments Off Please and activate it. It’s that simple – nothing to configure. If you’re in the habit of un-checking these boxes already, it should speed up your workflow and keep you from accidentally leaving them checked.
Because this plugin/widget is provided free of charge, I simply ask you to link back to Pressography.com in a post on your blog, or from one of your sites. It doesn't need to be anything fancy - just a note saying that you're using it, and whether or not you like it. However, there is no requirement that you do this, you're free to use the plugin regardless.
